Alex and Wayne

The White Hart is a friendly country free house, it is owned and operated by the Moore family. The family consists of Joan ‘my mum’, Wayne ‘me the landlord’, Alex ‘my better half’, Charlie ‘my son’, Tamsin and Daisy ‘our daughters’

We have had ‘the Hart’ since September 2001 and have worked to turn the pub into ‘the heart’ of the village. The family all take part in the day to day running and life of the pub, ( our home ) and we try to make our customers feel that they are visiting friends.  We pride ourselves on our family togetherness especially as seldom does a Sunday pass without ‘the girls’ helping daddy in the kitchen and ‘waiting on’.  Making  Sunday lunch in ‘the Hart’  a very relaxed and enjoyable experience.

Charlie and daddy are in charge of ‘the beer’ and ‘the celler’ and are both justly proud of the quality of product served in the bar.   ‘The Hart’ a noted real ale house offers at least four real ales mostly brewed on site in the pubs brewery .

Joan and Alex work hard on the look of ‘the Hart’ trying to make it always feel warm and welcoming and keeping the rest of us clean tidy n happy. Both ‘Landladies’ are the power behind ‘the Hart’.

The most important and as yet un mentioned member of the family is Tessa our English Springer Spaniel.  Tessa  acts as our ‘meeter and greeter’, as the door opens she can be seen tail wagging, padding over to our guests offering her paw of friendship. Tessa has an ever growing band of friends who love her and consider that she is the ‘Heart of the Hart’.

The ‘Hart’ is situated in the centre of the village of West Stockwith on the notts lincs boarder, close to the village church and at the junction point of the rivers Trent and Idle.

The village itself nestles alongside the river Trent within easy reach of the towns of Gainsborough, Doncaster, Retford and Worksop. The Chesterfield canal joins the Trent at Stockwith basin a picturesque lock. Home to numerous narrow boats and cabin cruisers. Acting as both a stopping off point for navigation of both canal and river offering comfortable berthing and necessary amenities for the boating community.

This family-owned and CAMRA-accredited country free house prides itself on the warmth of its welcome.
We offer a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Our friendly staff are pleased to make our guests feel at home.
We gladly welcome our four-legged friends and, of course, children are welcomed. We offer an outside play area and an indoor toy box to make their stay more enjoyable for all concerned.

We offer free Internet access, pool, poker, quiz nights, charity events etc. We serve cool lagers and fine real ales, many of which are brewed on site as we are the home of the Idle Brewery.
We also offer home-cooked meals prepared by a qualified chef to a high standard of both quality and presentation but, unlike many other establishments, we pride ourselves on the good value we offer our customers.
The owners and regulars are justly proud of our cottage-style beer garden stocked with mature plants and well-tended lawn. The garden offers ample seating for those warm afternoons  and a secure play area for our younger guests.

For the more sport-minded amongst us ‘The Hart’ is equipped with a modern dual channel, dual screen satellite tv system, giving us the capability to view two TV  channels at one time. Either 2 Sky or Sky and Setanta/terrestrial etc. We try not to miss a match !

The musical choice is as varied as our customers. We aim to offer entertainment that is suitable and enjoyable for all of our patrons.
Music is supplied by our satellite TV system and displayed via our 2 wide screen TVs
